Mehralizadeh: The 7th Asian Championships Mark a Golden Milestone in the 21-Year History of the International Federation

According to the Public Relations Office of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation (IZSF), Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, President of the International Federation, described the 7th Asian Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Championships as "a golden milestone in the Federation's 21-year history" during the Opening Ceremony held in Urmia, Iran, with the participation of teams from 16 Asian countries.

Expressing his appreciation for the warm hospitality of the people of Urmia and the tireless efforts of the organising committee, Dr. Mehralizadeh stated:

"It is a great honour for me, on the occasion of the twenty-first anniversary of the establishment of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation, to witness the successful organisation of the Seventh Asian Championships. Thanks to the dedicated and tireless efforts of our colleagues in the host country, this prestigious event has been organised to the highest possible standard. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to my esteemed colleague, Dr. Ahmad Donyamali, Honourable Minister of Sports and Youth, and my dear colleague, Dr. Rahmani, Governor of West Azerbaijan Province, for their invaluable support and close cooperation in making these Championships possible."

Highlighting the continued international expansion of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani, Dr. Mehralizadeh added:

"Today, the International Federation proudly comprises 85 member countries, of which 26 are located in Asia. In this edition of the Championships, 16 Asian nations have sent their national teams to compete, while representatives from 42 countries are attending as distinguished guests. Such remarkable international participation clearly reflects the growing global recognition and expanding influence of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani."

In his concluding remarks, the President of the International Federation expressed his sincere gratitude to all government authorities, organisers, volunteers, partners, and supporters whose dedication contributed to the successful staging of the Championships. He also extended his best wishes to all participating athletes and teams, expressing hope for a competition conducted in the spirit of friendship, fair play, and the noble values of Pahlavani culture.
