According to the Public Relations Department of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation (IZSF), the Koshti Pahlavani competitions were held in five weight categories. The Iranian National Team delivered an outstanding performance, winning two gold medals, two bronze medals, and one fifth-place finish.
In the +90 kg weight category, Ahmad Mirzapour won the gold medal for Iran, while Abdollah Sheikh Azami claimed gold in the 70–80 kg division. Reza Jafari earned the bronze medal in the 60–70 kg category, and Alireza Sahraei secured bronze in the 80–90 kg division. Mohammad Rahmati finished in fifth place in the 50–60 kg weight category.
In the Zurkhaneh Sports events, Team Iran captured gold medals in the Team Zurkhaneh Performance, Charkh-e Tiz (Fast Spin), Charkh-e Chamani (Graceful Spin), Sang (Stone Shield), Mil-Bazi (Club Swinging), and Heavy Mil disciplines. Iran also won the silver medal in the Kabadeh event.
At the conclusion of the championships, Iran finished at the top of the final standings with a total of 150 points. Iraq secured second place, while the Republic of Azerbaijan finished third.
The 5th Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani World Cup was held in New Delhi, India, on 22–23 December, with the participation of teams from Iran, India, Iraq, Belarus, Uganda, Tanzania, and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
