The 5th World Cup of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Officially Opens in New Delhi

According to the Public Relations Office of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation, the Opening Ceremony of the 5th World Cup of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani was held in New Delhi, India, in the presence of Ali Fathollahi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India; Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation; Mehrali Barancheshmeh, President of the National Federation hosting the event; and Khawaja Nouri, Vice President of the Indian Federation. A number of officials from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran also attended the ceremony.

The championship has brought together national teams from Iran, India, Uganda, Tanzania, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Iraq, with athletes competing in various disciplines of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani.

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, President of the International Federation, emphasized the cultural significance of the sport, stating:

"Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani are deeply rooted in the values of culture, ethics, and chivalry. Today, we are delighted to see this invaluable heritage expanding across the world through the participation of many nations. Hosting these championships in India reflects the remarkable potential of sport to strengthen cultural exchange and international friendship."

Ali Fathollahi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, also expressed his pleasure at the organization of the event, saying:

"Pahlevani sport is a universal language that brings nations closer together and plays an important role in fostering cultural understanding. The participation of teams from different countries is a symbol of mutual respect and friendship among nations, and the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to supporting the development of these cultural and sporting exchanges."

The 5th World Cup of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani is currently being held in New Delhi, India, bringing together athletes from around the world to celebrate competition, cultural heritage, and the enduring values of Pahlevani.
