President and Secretary General of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation Meet with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India

According to the Public Relations Office of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation, Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, President of the Federation, and Dr. Mitra Rouhi, Secretary General of the Federation, who are in India to attend the Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani World Cup, met with Ali Fathollahi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, in New Delhi.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the organization of the Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani World Cup, which was scheduled to begin the following day, 22 December, in New Delhi. Discussions focused on the cultural and sporting significance of the event, the role of Zurkhaneh Sports in cultural diplomacy, and opportunities to strengthen sports cooperation among the participating countries.

Dr. Mehralizadeh emphasized the cultural importance of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani, stating:

"Hosting the World Cup in India provides a valuable opportunity to introduce the spirit of Pahlevani, ethical values, and the rich spiritual heritage of Zurkhaneh Sports to the international community. With a development-oriented vision, the International Federation remains committed to expanding this traditional sport across different continents."

The President of the International Federation further added:

"The support of the diplomatic missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in host countries plays a vital role in strengthening international cooperation and ensuring the successful organization of major sporting events."

For his part, Ali Fathollahi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, welcomed the Federation's officials and stated:

"Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani are an integral part of Iran's cultural identity. Hosting the World Championships in India can make a significant contribution to strengthening cultural and sporting relations among nations."

He further noted:

"The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India fully supports all efforts aimed at ensuring the success of this international event and promoting the values and traditions of Pahlevani culture."

The Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani World Cup was scheduled to commence on 22 December in New Delhi, with the participation of national teams from various countries around the world.
