Meeting Between the President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation (IZSF) and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa

According to the Public Relations Office of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation (IZSF), at the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mehralizadeh, President of IZSF, presented an overview of the Federation’s activities and the current status of Zurkhaneh Sports across the African continent. He highlighted the efforts and development programmes being implemented to promote and expand this traditional sport in various African countries.

Mr. Khosrovinajd referred to the friendly relations and growing cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and African countries, emphasising the significant role of sports in strengthening cultural and diplomatic ties. The President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation also stated that such cooperation could play a key role in further developing Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani at the international level.

Dr. Rouhi, Acting Secretary General of IZSF; Dr. Nasirzadeh; and Mr. Dehghan also attended the meeting and shared their views regarding the opportunities and challenges involved in expanding Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani throughout Africa.

The main topic of discussion was the identification of practical strategies to activate African countries and utilise the continent’s potential capacities for the development of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani. Both sides emphasised the importance of benefiting from these opportunities to enhance the global position of these traditional Iranian sports.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue consultations and operational planning in order to implement joint initiatives and programmes, with the aim of witnessing further growth and advancement of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani in Africa and around the world.
