President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation Visits Hajbar Zurkhaneh

Mr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation (IZSF), visited Hajbar Zurkhaneh on the sixth day of the holy month of Ramadan, where he met with athletes and observed their training and traditional performances.

The gathering was hosted by Haj Hassan Panahi, one of the veteran Zurkhaneh custodians (Zoorkhanehdars) and Morsheds. At the beginning of the visit, athletes and senior members of the Zurkhaneh community warmly welcomed the Federation President and performed traditional Zurkhaneh rituals and exercises, creating a unique atmosphere of spirituality, chivalry, and cultural pride. Eng. Mehralizadeh also addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting this ancient Iranian heritage.

Referring to the thousands of years of history behind Zurkhaneh Sports, the Federation President described the discipline as a symbol of Iranian culture, chivalry, and moral values.

He stated:

"This authentic sport, rooted in the ancient traditions of Iran, has now been introduced in more than 85 countries around the world, and its continental and world championships are organized on a regular basis."

Eng. Mehralizadeh also highlighted the distinguished role of the Murshed in the Zurkhaneh, describing him as the spiritual and cultural guide of the ceremony. He emphasized that the Morshed plays a vital role in leading the traditional rituals, maintaining the rhythm of the exercises, and passing on the values of ethics, honor, and Pahlavani to younger generations.
