Urmia Hosts Strategic Global Decisions for the Development of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani

Mr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh: Zurkhaneh Sports Will Inspire Future Generations

According to the Public Relations Office of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation (IZSF), the 20th Executive Board Meeting of the Federation was held with the participation of Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, President of IZSF; Dr. Mitra Rouhi, Secretary General; Mr. Suleiman Abdulvahidov, Vice President; Mr. Jack Dalk, Deputy President; Mr. Jony Mardizal; and other members of the Executive Board.

During the meeting, the Board reviewed and discussed a range of strategic matters, including the hosting of forthcoming championships, the Federation's development programmes, and its long-term policies for the global expansion of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani.

In accordance with the resolutions adopted by the Executive Board:

  • The European Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Championships will be hosted by Armenia.
  • The African Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Championships will be organised in either Tanzania or Zimbabwe, subject to final confirmation.

In another part of the meeting, Dr. Mitra Rouhi, Secretary General of IZSF, emphasised the important role of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani in promoting the universal values of Pahlavani culture, including honour, courage, humility, respect, and sportsmanship. She called upon member countries to strengthen their support for the international development and promotion of this authentic cultural and sporting heritage.

Welcoming the participants, Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, President of the International Federation, stated:

"It is my great honour to welcome you to the Twentieth Executive Board Meeting of the International Federation. I sincerely appreciate the dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions of all Executive Board members towards the promotion and advancement of this ancient cultural sport throughout the world."

Dr. Mehralizadeh also presented a report on the outcomes of the Federation's two previous Executive Board meetings, highlighting significant achievements, including the strengthening of international cooperation, the successful organisation of educational and cultural programmes, and the continued enhancement of the global profile of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Executive Board reviewed the Federation's strategic policies and unanimously reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing a sustainable, development-oriented approach aimed at further strengthening the international standing and recognition of Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani for the benefit of future generations.
