According to the Public Relations Office, yesterday Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, President of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation (IZSF), in a meeting with Dr. Zolfaqor Gulahmadzadeh, Minister of Sports of Tajikistan, and his accompanying delegation, emphasised the expansion of sports cooperation between the two countries.
The ceremony was held at the Naft Township Zurkhaneh, where a team of athletes performed traditional Zurkhaneh exercises, which were warmly welcomed and appreciated by the guests.
The programme was attended by Dr. Mitra Rouhi, Secretary General of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation, a number of Zurkhaneh sports veterans, officials from the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and representatives of the Federation.
In his remarks, Dr. Mehralizadeh stated that Tajikistan is a friendly, brotherly, and Persian-speaking country with deep historical and cultural ties with Iran. He said:
"We hope that through the establishment of leagues, the organisation of training courses, and the deployment of coaches, we will witness the further development and expansion of Zurkhaneh Sports in Tajikistan."
The Minister of Sports of Tajikistan, while expressing appreciation for Iran’s hospitality, stated:
"In Iran, we feel that we are at home. The two countries share common cultural and civilisational roots, and traditional sports can further strengthen the bonds between the two nations."
Referring to the traditional celebrations and sporting ceremonies held in Tajikistan, he added:
"We welcome cooperation and the valuable experiences of our Iranian friends, and we hope that this visit will mark the beginning of a new chapter in sports relations and interactions between the two countries."
